I originally wrote this tune on a piano in a practice room while cutting class at university. after recording the original demo of this track on my phone with the guys (the piano was ditched), we couldn't seem to recapture the vibe of the tambourine and the explosivity of the drum fill in the middle of the 2nd verse upon laying it down in studio. so I plugged my phone into the patchbay and used the tambo and drum fill from the demo. the 'low quality' setting on Recorder for iPhone really does something crazy that I haven't quite been able to replicate by other means.

lyrics
I figured it out, I'm writing it down
It seem like I'm always too vague
and letting you down
I'm letting you down.
So I'm taking my time, I'm dotting my i's
this time I mean it...
I figured out how, how to keep you around:
I'll just keep my mouth shut and be a nicer guy
SO now that it's out, I'm kicking myself for not saying sooner
the way that I felt and feel I'll always feel
but you're running out of fingers to count
the times I've been sorry and left you without a reason, not to say
"Just keep your mouth shut and be a nicer guy,
'cause you're the only one so far that I've liked"
I can explain, I swear, just hold on, there's a reason that's not true,
I belong to you
You're the only one so far that I've liked
